Dear Fellow Whitefish Parents and Residents,

Many of you may be unaware that Whitefish School District, in conjunction with Whitefish Parks and Recreation (WPR), has an underutilized gem waiting in it's side yard. It's a ropes challenge course, called Whitefish Challenge Course (WCC), with a low and high course. It's located in a fenced area next to Muldown school. I was unaware of this course until this past year. A handful of people have been working hard to help keep it going, but now they need us.

The Whitefish School Board will be voting sometime in November to either keep WCC going or shut it down. We need to let the Whitefish School District and WPR know that we want to see this course not only be saved, but utilize it to it's full potential. It could be a wonderful magnet in the valley for our kids and our community if this potential is realized. These courses can help provide more: cooperation, self-confidence, team building, trust, self-esteem, and better decision making, group interaction and leadership. It could be more used by our kids, coaches, teachers, community and businesses.

Please sign this petition, help spread the word about the petition and fill out the Whitefish Parks and Recreation Survey supporting WCC. We need at least 100 signatures to be delivered to the Whitefish School Board and 100 people to fill out the survey (see below). We need your help!

Sincerely,

Cari Elden

P.S.

For those of you who would like more information about ropes challenge courses, please see:

Please also take the time to fill out the current Whitefish Parks and Recreation Survey available online (link below). Please ask that WPR expand it's outdoor programming (skiing, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing and (of course) the ropes challenge course programs). The survey has 20 quick to answer questions. In #19 there is a box for other comments. Please place your thoughts about the course there. Thank you!
