We, the undersigned, petition against the policy enforced by Bonnie “Mesanna” Armstrong, Producer of Ultima Online, to ban users of third-party clients.
Thousands of dedicated players rely on these clients because the official client has become outdated and virtually unplayable. The imposition of this policy threatens the longevity and player base of this iconic MMORPG, which has been running for over 25 years.
We request that Broadsword Online Games and Electronic Arts take the following actions:
- Reconsider the ban on third-party clients.
- Update the official client to meet modern standards.
- Ensure fair treatment of all players without favoritism.
- Engage with the community to understand and address our concerns.
Failure to act on these demands may lead to a potential class action lawsuit invoking promissory estoppel, due to implied permission of third-party client use over the years.
Join us to protect Ultima Online and its vibrant community.

The implicit permission of the use of third-party programs for more than 25 years should be considered a precedent to take into account when considering whether to prohibit them. It seems that this could lead to the final end of the game.
