I just blinked and saw the counter hit two hundred fifty signatures which feels totally unreal because I honestly thought it would just be my friends signing this thing. My head is kind of spinning thinking about all these people who actually care about keeping that old piece of steel standing and I keep scrolling through the names wondering who they are.

I keep refreshing the page and my heart just does a little flutter every time the count ticks up higher than I ever thought possible. It feels like the whole town is actually paying attention now and honestly that is the most surreal thing I have ever experienced.

I was looking at the screen and realized we are almost at two hundred and fifty signatures which honestly feels wild because I started this in my kitchen while drinking cold coffee. If you could just send this link to a few people right now it would give us such a boost before the next meeting happens because I really think they are actually paying attention to these names.

I agree the head frame should NOT be taken down. I leaved in Yellowknife for 17yrs and also worked for Con Mine as a hoistoperator. A tourist attraction is what it should be. YOU can't believe the view from on top of that headframe.

By world standards, Yellowknife is a young city. But even the young have a history. We cannot know where we are going unless we understand our past. The headframe represents our past and helps us understand where we have been and ultimately, where we can go. Save the headframe.

This is definitely a YK landmark and should become an historical building! I was born and raised here; as were my kids. It just wouldn't be the same if it weren't there. Whenever I am away and then return, once I see the headframe, I know that I am home!

It would be a shame to tear down such an important part of our history. The head frame is named after my Uncle Bob Robertson who dedicated his working life to mining in Yellowknife. So it has special meaning for the Robertson clan.

As this is a safety landmark for snowmobilers and boaters I would like to see it remain standing. Seriously?? Bike lanes and trash cans are less necessary than people's safety. There are more boaters and snowmobilers in town than there are bikers.

As a former Yellowknifer of 22 years and Chair of the City's Heritage Committee, I ask that council preserve this wonderful landmark and legacy of our mining history. It has been done in Cobalt, ON and Helena, Montana, Yellowknife can do it too!
