In recognition of Lot 24 Concession 13 Monmouth Township in Highlands East being a significant ecological area with an old red oak stand, as well as other old trees and rare mineral sites, we the undersigned believe that it is not in Ontario's best interest to log this lot in 2016-2021.

I spent the morning walking through the red oaks again and the silence of that forest is exactly what we are fighting to preserve. My inbox is full of messages from neighbors who also remember climbing these trees as children. Nobody wants to see those giants turned into lumber.

Seeing this groundswell of support for the red oaks in our community fills me with a hope I struggled to find when I first started this effort. It means the world to protect the woods where I spent my childhood summers from being lost forever.

This activity is criminal as far as I'm concerned and needs to be stopped, PERIOD!

My family has lived in Highlands East for 3 generations and seeing these trees go down would be a tragedy. Just leave them alone for once.

THESE ARE ANCIENT TREES. ONCE THEYRE GONE YOU CANT JUST GROW THEM BACK OVERNIGHT. STUPID IDEA.
