The Hamilton County Regional Planning Commision has approved the rezoning of the parcel of land across from Pineterrace Drive on 1357 Nagel Road in Anderson Township from "B" residence to "DD" Planned Multiple Family. The preliminary housing development plan submitted by Abercrombie and Associate on behalf of the Zicka Development Company LLC lists the two large oak trees near the street as

“ex[isting] tree to be preserved if possible.”

These trees are absolutely beautiful large examples of mature Pin Oak Trees. The South Oak tree is approximately 193 years old and 93 feet tall. The North Oak tree is approximately 159 years old and 84 feet tall.

By signing this petition, I agree that the development should not occur unless the contractors guarantee the trees will be preserved, including their root system. They would need to follow recommendations of an Environmental Consulting company who would evaluate the current plan and make recommendations to ensure the safety of the trees during and after construction.

I spent the morning walking by the oaks and visualizing what this corner looks like without them. These giants have stood here since long before our neighborhood existed and I am working to ensure they stay that way throughout the construction process.

Seeing this kind of momentum behind protecting those two oaks brings me so much relief. My heart hurts thinking about those beautiful giants being lost to development and knowing so many of you feel the same gives me hope that we can actually stop this.

It is really important to do all the is possible to save trees that are this old. They have seen to much history. They can provide an interpretative link to the past. Children and adults can stand under them and contemplate the meanings of their age. They have the power and magisty to both inspire and teach humility.

It would be wrong to see the what might be the oldest trees in Anderson get torn down to the ground. Thank you Chris for bringing this to our attention.

Please preserve these trees...we've already lost several with the turn lane project on Nagel.

Please preserve these beautiful trees. Development shouldn't occur at their expense, not at their age and history.

Part of what makes our neighborhood so special is the strength of its people and the beauty of these trees!

We would also like to see a construction perimeter to mitigate any root damage during construction.

The corruption of our trustees seems to have no bottom.
