The recent news that M&T Bank Corporation will be closing its Prattsburgh, New York branch on December 9th 2020 was very shocking. Prattsburgh is a small community whose residents depend on the bank. Not having a bank will be devastating to our community especially for our older residents who do not drive. We are asking M&T Bank corporate management to reconsider its decision to close the branch in Prattsburgh.

Please don’t close this bank this is the first bank I have ever been in my entire life. We had a 1st grade field trip here and all received a $2 bill. This bank is an essential establishment held in Prattsburgh. Parents and students depend on this bank in the town. Especially those who don’t have vechicles in town.
Deciding to close this bank branch is a travesty. There are many folks in town who do not have access to technology to be able to bank online. Also, many businesses and the town itself need to make regular cash deposits. Closing this branch will put undue burden on them as well.
I honestly believe that there is enough business to keep this branch open. We were about to open an other account here because of the convenience of this branch. If this branch gets closed we will be closing our other account with M & T and switching to a bank that is convenient for us.
Closing the bank just hurts seniors who need this service. How aout opening the bank 3 days a week? This would give seniors at least a chance to get to the bank. I am one of them.
The local businesses, the town offices, and the school use this bank for their financial transactions. Why make it so inconvenient for thousands of people whom rely on this? The closest branch is over a half hour away!
I will no longer bank with M&T if they leave town.
Our little town needs this to stay open. The older people don’t like traveling to other towns. This is a convenient place for them to do their banking. Plus you are putting a lot of people out of work just before Christmas!

They may not have many people that passed through. But to the farmers ,elderly, what is left of the local businesses and busy parents that live in the community rely on the convenience of this Bank!
