The town confirmed that the theatre will be preserved and renovated as a performing arts space. I am truly stunned by this result and I know this belongs entirely to the people who cared enough to speak up. We should stay tuned to see the plans come to life as …

As part of the development project at the former Mystic Education Center/Mystic Oral School, now known as Mystic River Bluffs, the developer Respler Homes has pledged to refurbish the Pratt Building, which houses a pool, gymnasium and 322 seat theatre/auditorium. We, the undersigned, want to inform the Town of Groton that we wish for the theatre at the Pratt Building to be not only be saved, but renovated and made the home of a vibrant new performing arts space here in Groton.

Performance spaces are rare and valuable sites for community connections between people of all ages and interests. The value of live arts and entertainment in local venues cannot be underestimated as memorable community experiences that enhance community members’ lives.

This could be "The Kate" in Groton and SE CT! What a great opportunity for local performers and patrons of the Arts!

This venue is a theater, not an auditorium. With the thousands of employees coming Electric Boat I am confident the venue will be well used.

This theater was State of the Art when it was built complete with ear phone jacks in each seat in the audience. I have directed a few production on this stage and it was a wonderful small theater. This entire building has such potential and it DEFINITELY should be saved!

This would be such a boost for Groton and their excellent Parks and Rec programs. They don't have a theater, but have done so well with other facilities. I know they will take care of this theater and put it to good use!

Although I am not a Groton resident, I do live near the site. This area of CT desperately needs a performing arts site to bring culture to the residents and tourists. I see this site as a real money maker and attracting people from both CT and RI. It is short sighted to not repair this facility.
