Bath County citizens, visitors and guests need to save the Jefferson Pools in Warm Springs Virginia from destruction. These are the oldest bath houses in the United States. Please sign this petition so we can present it to the owners to show just how important the pools are to Bath County and America. The owners will be receiving millions of dollars in tax grants but have not formally committed to restoring the pools. This process has been ongoing for the past four years and the pools can not stand another four.

The pools were first part of my life over 50 years ago before I understood their history. They provided therapy for my mother. They did the same for Lincoln’s mother. How can you destroy and disrespect history and healing? Are we that blind or too greedy to see real value!

I moved to Bath County in 2008 from Las Vegas. Coming from a city that doesn’t value the old, but instead destroys history to build new, I hold the history in Bath close to my heart and it should be preserved ! Please don’t let the bath houses fall to ruin.

The Jefferson Pools are a unique national treasure. The Omni should either fix/stabilize the pools or turn over control to another organization that will preserve them properly. It is not responsible to just hold them until they collapse.

We cannot afford to lose another historic property. Hopefully there can be a partnership between the hotel, preservation groups, state and/or federal park services to restore and maintain this important piece of history for generations to come.

The Jefferson Pools are an important part of our family's Homestead memories, as we vacation (from Ohio) 27 days per year at the Owner's Club. Please save the pools so that all may enjoy them as we have (and hope to continue to do). Thank you!

We are homeowners in Warm Springs, and being so close to this historic treasure was one of our factors for buying here. We love soaking in the pools and bringing out of town guests to show off the rich history of Warm Springs.

Has there been any movement at all? I hope this great historic place gets saved. People will flock to it once it is up and running.

An investment in the restoration of these bath houses would return several times to the financial benefit of the Omni Hotel owners.
