Our two pygmy goats are being evicted by the city of Layton. Our property is zoned as MU (multi use) which means just that, it can be used for multiple things, commercial, residential, etc. Without fully understanding all the rules, I assumed that because we had enough land, and that goats are allowed in residential zones that we were allowed to have two goats. Unfortunately, I was wrong, and MU is not allowed any farm animals at all. Our goats are well behaved, well taken care of, are not noisy or stinking and bring so much joy to everyone that passes them on the sidewalk. I’ve started this petition hoping that the city of Layton will consider rezoning our property.
