The joy and excitement that the Ft Sam Houston Youth Football and Cheer organization brings to the faces of the children and the families of present, past, and future players is priceless. However, this month the organization was told that it would not be offering the program any longer. This was the hardest news ever to give to families that look forward to the beginning of a new season. The Fort Sam Houston youth sports football and cheer program has been a tradition for so many families. Over the years many children have learned life lessons and made new friends as they have participated in the program. Often times, the coaches that you see coaching have also had the pleasure of playing or cheering for the organization when they were younger. The football and cheer program has always been a great asset to many familes going through PCS moves, deployments, or other situtations that the military life brings your way. Each and every child that has participated in the organization has left with at least something. That something being friendship, life lessons, or a sense of achievement.
