I have to request a zoning variance for both my front and back deck.
-Before installing the new deck, there was no safe adequate access to my front and rear doors.
-I feel that I have only made a tasteful renovation that does not effect adjacent properties. If anything, I believe the changes add value to the neighborhood and help to portray the diversity and character of Colonial Town.
Your support would be greatly appreciated in my effort to appeal zoning restrictions. I love my home, and if I have to undo the accessory structures it will be devastating.

I have spent the current week drafting formal correspondence to the zoning board members to outline the safety necessity of the deck access. The next step is a scheduled review of our documentation with a local land use consultant to ensure our appeal meets all regulatory requirements.

A zoning variance should not have to be requested for high quality work that does not impinge on the surrounding residents and improves the wellness of the neighbourhood.
I live around the corner at 1216 Oregon st, I have seen the house before and after the renovations. The house was an eyesore before the deck was made, the improvements that michaela made to the neighborhood are great and obvious. Save the deck!
I live in Colonialtown (1716 Garvin st) only a street away from this property and I absolutly love living here. I saw this house before the renovations and I saw it after. The improvement was astonishing, it has most certainly raised property value and now has a much safer access to the house than it ever did before. This is an absolutly beautiful home and I struggle to see why anyone would have a problem with this or how it could actually affect their lives in any substantial way. I find it childish that people would go out of there way to hinder the improvement of such an incredible property and only hope that this ridiculous issue can be resolved quickly. This stunning home has my full support.
The renovations made to the house embody the spirit of diversity that makes colonial town such a special and unique community. The additions to the house increase the value of both the home and the community as a whole. Also, besides the asthetic value of the additions, they add to the safety and comfort of the owner and visitors by eliminating uneven walk ways and providing safer access to the house's points of entry.
Having visited the property prior to the deck's instillation, I can confirm the lack of safe entryways to the front and back doors. I do not believe the instillation effects adjacent properties in any way, and agree with the homeowner regarding the value it has added to the neighborhood of Colonial Town. The deck has not only added aesthetic value to the property and neighborhood, but has increased the necessary accessibility to the properties entryways. Deconstruction of the deck would only inconvenience the homeowner with the loss of time and investment, as well as disturb the surrounding neighborhood with the addition of noise pollution during the deconstruction period.

The home is wonderful. As Treasurer of the homeowners' association, I would like to advise that Michaela has vastly improved the house he bought and we thank him.

Michaela is very proud of her home and we are very proud of her! Previous access to that home was dangerously obsolete ... the rear yard was a jungle and impossible to negotiate.. The new structures offer safe access for guests and areas that can now be used and enjoyed. We feel the additions enhance both street view and neighborhood. Thanks for your support!
