Save the Calstock fields
The environment Agency are proposing to flood some of the fields along the river bank in Calstock. If this ill-thought out scheme goes ahead, these fields will be lost to the village for good. The annual Bike Show will be one of the major casualties of this flooding. These fields are vital for camping for the event. As well as being a firm favourite family event, the bike show, every single year, pumps thousands of pounds back into the local community through donations. For instance, in recent years, the Bike Show has donated as much as £1500.00 each, annually, to the Primary School, the Rowing Club & the Football club, as well as many smaller amounts to other local causes. On top of this, money raised from the show also funds the two annual huge firework displays, and brings a much needed revenue boost to many other local businesses. We need your help to stop this scheme going ahead. We have the full support of our local M.P. Sheryll Murray, and many villagers are also already behind us. Please sign the petition and, if you have the time, you can email Sheryll Murray direct at email@example.com and also the Environment Agency persons responsible for the proposal firstname.lastname@example.org & email@example.com
Many thanks. Your support will be greatly appreciated, and will assist us in our fight against this rash & uneconomic proposal.
