Final supporters
As we know, the beloved fig tree has caused some slight problems lately but it is part of the family and even to consider lopping it whilst in its prime is a frightful act of barbary which cannot be tolerated in a modern, liberal society such as the 5th republic.
Next it'll be the chestnut trees being felled for some minor misdemeanour and this would be tantamount to Armageddon and the end of life as we know it.
Will you stand by and let this happen?

Pursuant to clause 43 section 4 subsection 2 of the Code Agriculturel anyone wishing to terminate a fig tree shall first complete forms F45A and B issued by the National Institute of Fig Trees and deliver it to said institution in 44 original copies together with your most recent tax return and a certified copy of your maternal grandmother's birth certificate.
Keep the fig tree alive!
This sort of behaviour drives me barking mad. Probably the action of trunken idiots.
It has come to our attention that we need to launch a root and branch investigation into this scandal
Meeting of petitioners scheduled for 1 February - it's a date!
OAK-kay, this has gone FIR enough. I am STUMPED. Maybe we should get Miss MAPLE to investigate.
What sap thought this up?! I doubt such an endeavour will be fruitful.

Who is coming up with these puns? Given the gravity of the situation, it is in exseedlingly bad taste.
