There has been too much of a brain-drain of ecological expertise already as a result of so many NRW staff redundancies and retirements. This makes it even more important to keep this resource going. I have used the library in the past as it held information not available elsewhere.

There is so much in that library which will not have been digitised and put on-line, so will be lost to science and conservation if the library is closed and its librarian/evidence custodian lost. NRW should be looking forwards, not backwards.

This library is an invaluable resource - especially of hard to get grey literature. It should be saved. And if this is not possible talks should occur with Bangor University and/or CEH to resite it ( ex PVC at Bangor and Head of Natural Sciences)

A library is a service and should make books & documents available. As president of the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland, I see this a retrograde step, when wildlife and plant conservation need all the support possible

The library staff were really helpful in responding to my enquiries when doing assignments and dissertation at USW MSc Wildlife and Conservation Management. Helping connect students with real- world evidence about habitats in Wales.

When I worked for CCW and NRW, access to the library was essential for my work. The librarians were excellent and saved me a lot of time, so I could do my own work more easily and efficiently. They are core staff.

Closing the NRW library is just the wrong thing to do. In my latest book I've described shifting baseline syndrome and the environmental impacts of losing access to information about the past. if there is anything I can do to help just let me know. We need to preserve the records of our ecological past, as it under pins the decisions we make going forward.
