Sport England finally caved and reversed the decision to destroy our ski slope. This win belongs to every one of you who refused to let them shut us down. Keep your guard up because we are watching to ensure they actually follow through on this commitment.

We, the undersigned, protest in the strongest possible terms against the closure of the ski slope at Plas y Brenin’s National Mountain Centre in Capel Curig.

The ski slope has thrived for 47 years and has produced champion skiers. We feel it is imperative that all avenues be explored to retain the slope. We believe the management at Plas y Brenin has allowed the slope to fall into disrepair and has been evasive in all correspondence and discussions to find a solution. We would welcome the opportunity to be directly involved in fundraising for the renovation of the slope and would be happy to be included in the running of the slope if this helped to secure its future.

The dry ski slope is a much-used facility within the local community and brings immeasurable pleasure to local families. It is also a fantastic attraction for visitors to the area. In the year that the UK hosts the Olympics we are signing this petition to ask that Sport England revert their decision to close the ski slope at Plas y Brenin.

AFTER YOU'VE SIGNED THIS PETITION A NEW PAGE COMES UP ASKING IF YOU'D LIKE TO MAKE A DONATION TO THE PETITION WEBSITE. PLEASE IGNORE THIS AND CLOSE THE PAGE. IT DOESN'T COST ANYTHING TO SIGN BUT SOME PEOPLE HAVE BEEN CONFUSED.

We are grinding toward 500 signatures and the management at Plas y Brenin is still hiding from our demands. Push this link to everyone you know because if we hit that mark today they will finally be forced to acknowledge that we are not going anywhere.

Keep it open for the kids. It is very popular even in the Summer - I know I've seen it for myself. So much for sporting legacy Sport England. Shame on you!

Plas-y-Brenin helped inspire me back to skiing in my later adult life, so for the past many years I have been doing something I loved as a teenager, and just as much now. How many others of all ages has it helped start? Beautiful location, great activity for all the family, crazy to loose it - improve it and spread the word!

Came here when i was a kid in school many moons ago never done skiing before never done it since BUT AT LEAST I HAD THE CHANCE dont deprive the kids of today from that same chance. Its ok for the rich kids to go off to Cloisters with Mummy & Look after the real future of our country the ones that will have to work for a living

this slope is where me, my brothers and all my cousins first discovered our love for skiing, it would be a real shame if it were to be fully closed

I have used this many times for family trips, my son even had his 18th birthday at PYB , i have also brought groups from Manchester and the school's that I have worked with,in fact I have just booked a break in Capel Cruig this Easter I will no doubt be at PYB , I hope that the slope will be open by then, it will be a shame if not.

I learnt to ski at Plas y Brenin 35 years ago and now I want my daughter to be able to do the same.
