The Council are wanting to sell off pier field to make way for a Premier inn. Please sign this petition to prevent are foreshore from being ruined by a massive tower block hotel!

In a press release announcement on Wednesday 11th June 2014 in the Skegness Standard East Lindsey District council stated they were considering selling Pier field on the Skegness Seashore to a "Major" hotel chain and allowing a new hotel (rumoured to be Premier Inn) to build a hotel on the Seashore land that was left by The Earl of Scarborough for the enjoyment of the people of Skegness and visitors. If this is allowed where will the building end, we will lose all our Seashore.

Seeing 500 names on this list brings back so many childhood summer memories on the pier field. I never imagined so many people would join me in fighting to keep our foreshore open for everyone.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that so many of you value our coastline just as much as I do. It feels like the council finally has to acknowledge that we will not sit by while they sell off our heritage.

You dont go to Skegness to stop in a Premier Inn. What about the hotels opposite, they'll lose their view and possibly their business. I agree something should be done with it but let the hoteliers and people in Skegness decide.

Wrong place to put it, the field needs to be used for attracting ppl to come to Skegness like it used to, put on event like tea in the park, summer fete, Christmas marke, food fair or charity fun days surly if I can think of things someone else can !!!

The Hotel would be better suited to the North Parade bringing much needed business to that end of town and business along the parade. This open space would be better served by events throughout the year to attract more visitors and get the ones already there to spend money.

IT BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE OF SKEGNESS,,NOT THE, ELDC to sell off to make money to cover for financial mistakes they have made in the past and put themselves into debt,, maybe the 11% pay rise they awarded themselves should be used instead to cover thier foulups,,,

This is the wrong site for the hotel. How can such a big building be allowed to come between visitors on the promenade and the sea? Keep the green space, overflow parking and venue for large outdoor events.

Foreshore should be for family fun and pleasure.
