It is with a sad facts that Kmart's corporate offices confirm that the Rensselaer store will be closing to the public in early June. Our Rensselaerlocation has 70 employees, most of whom are part time or hourly employees. But either way we are all one family from the 12144 area! They say the employees who are eligible will receive severance and have the opportunity to apply for other positions at area Sears or Kmart stores.Rensselaer Kmart closing We Must FIGHT to keep jobs in our community's ! So Please Join Me In This Fight To Save 70 Jobs that are on the line! Our Voices Can Make the Difference!
I have spent my mornings standing outside the store talking to coworkers who are terrified about how they will pay their rent next month. The corporate office continues to ignore our messages but I refuse to let them shut us down without a struggle.

taking 70 jobs away is wrong. those people could have kids or sick relatives or parents they have to help! that job could be their one and only source of income.

I really like to have this K-mart close by. Plus my grand-daughter works there PT while attending school. Please keep it opened. I never have a problem returning or exchanging items.
