As of August 2012, the Unemployment Rate for Livingston County is 9.1%; a number that has been rising since May 2012 [2]. Locals agree that Kmart is one of Pontiac, IL's oldest stores in business. "Save Pontiac IL Kmart" are committed to keeping this store open. If Kmart closes, the empty lot will be one of many vacant lots in Vermillion Plaza.

Corporate greed at its finest. They never care about the local communities that keep them in business
This town is dying as it is. Take away Kmart and what is left for us in that plaza?
47 jobs is a lot for a place like Pontiac. Think of the families impacted by this move.
I refuse to drive all the way to the next town over for basic stuff. Keep it open.
