THE SILETZ RIVER IS DYING:
- That means we are all slowly dying. We depend on the Siletz for the water we drink, the air we breathe, the fish and wildlife that are such an essential part of this land that we love. All are being poisoned without our consent. This is happening in many ways, including the spreading of toxic sewage sludge on our soil, often very close to the river. We, the people, have the power to stop this. We demand an immediate halt to the application of toxic sludge (aka biosolids) to any soil within the Siletz Watershed and on any other soil in Lincoln County. There are better, less expensive, and far less harmful ways to dispose of this waste and we demand that our local representatives who have the power to change this do so—NOW.

Keeping this river clean is necessary for not just people who use it for recreation, but also the salmon and trout that inhabit its waters. They cannot spawn in garbage.
I am a Siletz tribal member. I fish the Siletz river for food for my family. Dumping waste in the river is poisoning everyone who fishes there. Disgusting!!!
"biosolids" means covering Mother Earth in solvents, PCBs, dioxins, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, fluoride, flame retardants, microplastics, nano particles, superbugs and prions.
I grew up fishing on that river..4 a.m. at "Jug-Bell" hole waiting for sunrise..Hearing a big splash and seeing a 6 point buck swimming downstream to an easier crossing..Don't screw things that up more than it already is!

Save our river. I. 32 years old I have small children we all grew up in siletz and absolutely love our river. My grandparents are also from siletz and would be ashamed of this poison in our river. I am ashamed and hurt by the people dumping this disgusting chemical into our river please stop it
