Save Our Police In Wandsworth
Stop City Hall’s Police Cuts in Wandsworth
The Government protected the London Police budget in real terms in 2015.
In 2016 when Boris was London Mayor we had 528 Police Officers in Wandsworth.
Despite his election promises, Labour's Mayor Khan has chosen to cut police first to 494 and now to less than 470 in Wandsworth and he is still reducing numbers.
Unsurprisingly, serious and violent crimes are now increasing in London, including gang & knife crime and crimes by gangs on mopeds.
Wandsworth has always prided itself on having the lowest crime rate in inner London by working in partnership with the police. However, this is under threat due to the Labour Mayor's police cuts.
We the undersigned demand that the London Mayor:
1) Makes tackling crime his number 1 priority
2) Restores Wandsworth Police numbers back to 528
3) Reverses his 51% cut to the Wandsworth crime prevention budget.
4) Withdraws his threat to close police stations across Tooting, Battersea & Putney in Wandsworth
