The police are a vital part of the community and should be preserved and equipped for modern crimes

Due to the huge number of people who sleep and throw litter on Tooting Common we definitely need more policemen. This is comparatively rich area!

The is far too much crime in the area already & the police are too stretched to cope now. Cuts will make the situation far worse!

We have become a type of police state without police. We must not lose more local police at a time when crime is getting truly frightening.

As the wife of a former Police Officer, I can attest to the importance of the regular presence on the streets. The restriction of numbers means that Police are now obliged to provide a car based fire chasing service. This results in a disconnect between the Police and the Public, who only have personal contact with them when something negative has happened. It also places an unacceptable level of stress on the Officers, who, constantly dashing at high speed from one incident to another, are facing the potential of future ill health associated with that constant stress. This will store up a cost for the Service for sickness absence, ill health claims, and early ill health pensions. Can some one tell me which tax payer it benefits?

After the 2011 riots to threaten the police, they cover so many areas in the community. They need more help.
