As you may already be aware, Gibson Lane Estate Agents have submitted a planning application for change of use at the previous Tucker’s Butcher’s shop.
The Parade is well established and well used by local residents and passing trade. However, over the years the diversity of the circa 30 units has diminished and we currently already entertain three Estate Agents to meet the needs of the local community.
The continued popularity of the Parade is dependent on attracting new, useful and interesting retailers/services. Another Estate Agent will be neither useful or necessary.

Seeing the count climb toward 250 signatures is completely surreal and honestly I am just overwhelmed by how much you all care about our local parade. This momentum belongs entirely to you because I never imagined so many people would join me in this effort. If you have a moment today please get the word out to just one neighbor so we can keep this push moving.

People have been stopping me on the street to share their own frustrations about the shop space which has been truly eye opening. It is your collective feedback that keeps this project grounded and reminds me why we need to protect our local shops.

I am honestly stunned by how many of you have stepped up to support this local issue. If you know someone who cares about the character of our shops, please send this their way so we can hit that hundred mark together.

I shop on Ham Parade most days and often more than once a day. But I have never bought a house there. We do not need another estate agent, we want more shops that attract new shoppers to the parade and offer something new to those of us who already shop there.
Variety is what is required to keep our parade alive. How often do residents pop down to the local shops to buy a property! With 3 Estate agents already - enough is enough. (Online estate agents provide the 4th alternative!).
I do miss Mia Wood's shop on Ham Parade - it was so wonderful to be able to go somewhere so local to find lovely gifts rather than going into Kingston or online. I'd love another shop like that one. I'd hate to see yet another estate agent on Ham Parade.
As a local resident, I use the shops and facilities on Ham Parade daily. I am appalled at the prospect of yet another estate agent - 3 is plenty enough to service the needs of the local community. Give us more varied shops: no more estate agents, or betting shops, or hairdressers please.
I have nothing against Estate Agents, however, this is a small parade, there are already three estate agents, if you want to attract people, like me to shop on the parade you need a variety or quite simply it will die.
Lebanon first
We have too many Estate Agents already. Another would not help to make it the lively local shopping centre it should be.

The loss of Tucker's Butcher's shop was a real blow to the parade. Once we were able to buy everything needed for a meal there - turning this into an estate agents diminishes the range of products on offer and undermines the sense of community local shops like this bring.
