The planning application was officially rejected and our green space is safe for now. I am completely worn out from the struggle but relieved that we managed to hold our ground. We still need to keep a close eye on the area to ensure this land remains protected in the …

Taylor Wimpey have a planning application to build a new College with 13 flats on top on the only last little green space left in Todd Close, Elstree Way Corridor.

The new College will have only three rooms !!

Hertswood Academy is undergoing a £32 million rebuild - how is a 3 roomed College going to meet the needs of the fast growing population of Borehamwood ??

This proposed development will take away the only green space in Elstree Way Corridor. Many children live in the flats in the vicinity and only have a balcony as outdoor space so this green space is much used and highly valued.

Parking is also a major issue already in the immediate area and these plans will reduce the number of visitor parking spaces from 16 to 8 !

Borehamwood has bourne the load of massive intensive new housing provision - is it fair to take away the last and only remaining green space ??

Please join our Campaign and OPPOSE this planning application and email [email protected] quoting ref 17/0899/FUL and stating your name, address and contact details and reasons for objecting.

We only have until 12 June to voice our opposition !!

So please email today.

To date this planning application has zero support but we do need much greater number of objectors.

Thank you for your support

The visitor parking is a huge problem already. You either have to park some distance away or risk getting a penalty notice. I have a 4 year old son with Special needs and this causes a real problem

The proposed development not only doesn't maintain the intent of the original plan by providing a suitable college for Borehamwood, it proposes to build more flats, which were not a part of the original agreement. This will cause further strain on the limited resources in Todd Close, Bullhead road, Manor way, Studio way area and negatively impacting the residents in the area.

I am a resident of Todd Close with two young children who rely on this green as we live in a 3rd floor flat so this is there playground.

Congestion is always horrid in that area. The town is not inner city and should not be treated as though. Air pollution is on the rise and the town has not seen no infrastructure growth to cope with the influx of more people. Hertsmere need to seek other alternatives to cope with building that can not continue in this area.

i agree with this petition their is limited green space as there is and the traffic will become a nightmare . It will also block sunlight into my flat and create a alleyeway and noise.

Really upset and disappointed that the only green that Todd close have will be taken away and safty will become more of an issue to walk through with an added alley way to the development
