The WDH are wanting to place a fence around Smawthorne marsh, which will block people from being able to feed to the ducks and also our hedgehog rescue will not be able to release the hedgehogs in the marsh, the ducks will not be able to walk in and out of the marsh which will eventually make them leave and not come back, the public will not be able to visit or feed the ducks because of the fence, and also the public will not be able to walk their dogs around the marsh.

Do not fence off leave as God intended , you will change animals path ways , feeding grounds and will change the marsh lands forever
Any loss of free roaming habitat for our wildlife is very detrimental. To endanger further the hedgehogs and the work of a rescue is unacceptable.
The Marsh and it's wildlife are way more important than a fence ! Good things are happening in the Marsh but unfortunately a fence will be it's undoing. Please re think your plans.
why on earth is it necessary to do that after all these years, leave the ducks alone . idiotic, in this time of cuts spend the money elsewhere
This is a Wakefield green area and a wildlife conservation area . With protected species living in it.
Protect our wildlife, please!

What a stupid idea of a fence what will that achieve? Nothing apart from trapped animals. I used and still use this shortcut everyday
