Please save this daycare! My little niece Leona loves her teachers and the sweet friends she's made at this school! and our peninsula is very short on daycare, as evidenced by a dear friend who is pregnant and also looking for future daycare.

Leona joined the Jellies classroom at the tender age of 5 months and I can't imagine uprooting her from her beloved teachers and administration. Infant care is, unfortunately, so rare on the peninsula, and this center is so very much needed. Please Save Our Daycare!!!

Losing a childcare faculty of this size is devastating to the local community. Not to mention the trauma to the children that will be uprooted from the safety of familiar faces and classrooms.

Our daughter Harper has developed amazingly while in the care of the KCLC teachers. We know with out a doubt that she is in great care while my wife and I are busy all day running our own business. We hope for a new provider to come in quickly and that there be a seamless transition for all the kids and that many of the teachers are able to stay.

My daughter Harper is almost two years old and has been attending KCLC since she was 9 months old. Most days when we arrive to pick her up she doesn't want to leave because she is having so much fun. The relationship we have created with the teachers has been amazing and we know that they truly care about the well being of our daughter. The facility is wonderful and has been a life saver for families with 2 working parents; providing long hours (7am-6pm), snacks and lunch provided to the children onsite, occasional date nights out for parents as well as holiday social events for the whole school. Not having this facility in use would be a huge loss to the community of Monterey. We strongly hope the City of Monterey will work tirelessly to find another accredited daycare provider to take over the facility and that current families attending KCLC aren't displaced.

My daughter, Olivia, is in the two year old room with Ms. Ellia and Ms. Natalie. My husband and I are both in the Air Force and having the Kindercare on the Presidio has been amazing. Having her on post with us during the day eases our minds and worries about security threats as well as enables us to get to the daycare quickly in the event of an emergency. We have been here since May and our daughter is just getting used to the new faces she sees everyday. We are hoping that a new provider will take over in time, but we can't hold onto hope and will have to apply for a different preschool in the next month or two. Please either keep KCLC or have another provider step up before December. This timeline is unreasonable short for parents and staff to find a new daycare/preschool.

My daughter Anabelle just recently moved into seahorse to prepare her for kindergarten next fall. She has been with the center and her friends for two years and loves it. We have a 10 week old son, Bryson who will be (hopefully) starting in the infant room on September 23. We have zero options for him outside of this center because infant care wait lists are too long and spots are not available for years! We are in a very tough spot and need this center to remain open and have a seamless transition to a new provider!

Dante is in the Jellyfish classroom (soon to be Sea Otter). His little sister will be born by the end of the year. We'd absolutely love to stay, but that will depend on whether infant care will continue to be available and how soon we can have confirmation that care will continue without interruption.
