As part of redevelopment plans Monmouthshire county council are looking at removing both squash courts from Caldicot leisure centre. These courts are used by all ages and different standards. Caldicot squash club has a number of teams that play along with a junior section. Please help us fight to keep our courts along with our squash club.

The loss of squash courts at Caldicot LC would mean that there would be no courts left in the county East of Newport or South of Monmouth. That's a huge area and a lot of people deprived of the opportunity to play squash or racquetball.

The NHS is currently spending 24 billion pounds per year on obesity related issues. We need to find ways to get more people to take part in sport. Removing sports facilities is going in the wrong direction.

Caldicot Squash Club has been an integral part of the community for many years and had produced players of national and international standing. The loss of amenity would be significant and a blow to competitive sport and leisure in the town.

desperately needed courts. if we lose these our nearest court is 30+ mile round trip and Gwent squash will lose two competitive teams. plans are to replace with soft play! There is already ample soft play provision In the area #cashgrab

Removal of the squash courts will be a great loss to Caldicot and the surrounding area, having played on them for the last 20 years. As a result I've had the opportunity to play in the Gwent & South Wales Squash Leagues, maintaining my fitness and meeting some great fellow squash players.

Having a keen interest in sport I believe everything should be done to maintain and promote the use of these courts. They have and do provide year round complementary sporting activities to those on offer in Caldicot by providing first class squash and racketball facilities to the local and wider community of Caldicot. I firmly believe the community and its future generations will benefit from the maintenance of these facilities for racket sports. I urge the Local Authority to reconsider their current proposal to ensure these courts are maintained for the use of everyone in the community.

I have started playing squash again after 10 years. Loving it especially beating my son in law 23 years younger.
