The Highland Council has officially backed down and cancelled the new hall charges. These sports clubs remain open and affordable for every child because you refused to accept their plan. Keep an eye on local school board meetings to ensure this decision holds firm.

Final supporters
On the 4th October 2013, John-Alastair MacAuley (aka OJ Sports) received a letter from the Highland Council advising that the school halls that are used will be chargeable. In their haste to write this letter they have failed to appreciate the following:
1. Highland Council do not offer an alternative service to our children
2. OJ donates money to all the schools where he makes a profit.
3. The cost for each parent is the same in every school, to ensure a fully inclusive child policy.
4. Our children benefit enormously from these activities, ensuring a more healthy, confident and active lifestyle.
5. OJ is always providing additional time for free to schools and other activities all year round, as he strongly believes in sport as part of the education and 'fit for life' curriculum.
The fees, effective from 6th January 2014, (which are different for each school) will make this vital after-school club uneconomical. There are two alternatives:
a) Increase the price
b) Exclude the uneconomical schools.
I am sure we all agree that every child should have the same chance of the after school club with OJ Sports, and not only the children with the parents that can afford any increased fees.
Please sign this petition, in order that the Highland Council realise that treating this amazing club for our children like any other commercial activity, is not only harming the kids in the long term, but they offer absolutely no alternative. OJ Sports provides a professional service to our children at a price that is fair, honest and ensures the inclusion of all children.

Oj sports is such a popular and well loved club. The children love it and they learn so many valuable skills. My child is not very confident at sports but with Oj's approach he always feels included and enjoys it very much. Please allow Oj to continue doing such a great job affordably.
My son has gone from complete disinterest in sports to loving running and especially his OJ classes. The nursery and school have benefitted from free lessons during term time and if MOL school were to lose OJ because of some money grabbing by the council it would be a terrible shame...
Both my children love going to OJ Sports there was nothing available after school for them. It gets them active and have fun all the coaches are fantastic and help build there confidence. There would be a massive impact on the kids if they could mo longer go.
Typical Council, all about money and not what the children are getting from it. My daughter has come on leaps and bounds since starting it 2 years ago and loves it! Teaches the children excellent skills, team work, respect for others and more importantly, sport is fun!
My daughter atended the after school oj sports at merkinch primary and she absolutely loved it. I wouldn't have been able to send her to these classes had they cost us money unfortunately. This increase in fees should be scrapped!
Both my boys benefit from attending OJ Sports and I'd like to keep it that way.
I thought our children were to do more physical activities. We should be encouraging more clubs like this to be set up. Over the years all my boys have gone to clubs helped and run by John/OJ Sports. Kids need to be active and he can do that and you should help him.

My children benefit greatly from this club in our local school - there are so few things that my children can walk or cycle to without yet another trip in the car to the Aquadome. The Highland Council need to appreciate what's being done here for local children.
