This will not only damage the natural beauty of the area, the added complication in traffic flow will make the most dangerous part of 74 even more dangerous for all of us. To do this they have to get the area rezoned from low density residential to commercial. The county planning board has already approved the switch without a visit to the site or any analysis of the dangerous traffic patterns it would create. The last chance to oppose this is to come to a community hearing this Tuesday: 8/6/2013: Public Hearing before the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners at 4:30 pm Commissioners’ Chambers 200 College Street, Suite 326 Asheville, NC 28801 Those that can't make it can sign a petition that will be presented to the board at the meeting. It explains this kind of "community services" rezoning is the last thing this community wants and needs. I'll be going around to local businesses in the next few days to collect signatures. If you'd like to sign, please leave a comment and I'll message you to set up a time and place to bring it to you. Anyone wanting additional copies for friends and family to sign let me know. And of course, feel free to share this note and tag as many people as you want to spread the word!

So sick of them turning everything into shops. Save the beauty of the place while we still can.

Seriously? Without visiting the site? Typical. Need to stop this before it ruins the neighborhood.

That intersection is a death trap already. Why would they add more traffic there? Makes zero sense.
