We actually won because they are moving those stupid toilets and leaving the shop right where it belongs. I am honestly shaking a little bit while typing this because I really thought they would just bulldoze us to save a few pennies. Keep an eye on the site just to …

After 70years of trading at the Giants Causeway the National Trust is trying to close our family business to facilitate a toilet block . There is adequate room on site for them to build their toilets elsewhere . It is a matter of greed not need ! With your help we wish to petition the National Trust to save our business and build the toilets elsewhere on the vast site

I was just looking at the counter and we are hovering right near that big 1000 mark which is honestly just wild to me considering how stressful these past few weeks have been with the National Trust people. If everyone who sees this sends it around to someone new right this second maybe we can actually hit that goal before the day is out and show them we are not just going to go away quietly. My brain is spinning thinking about the shop being gone but seeing this momentum makes me feel like we really might have a fighting chance here.

I just saw the number hit one hundred and I actually had to sit down because seventy years of history is a lot to carry. It feels unreal that so many people care about a little shop that mostly just sells postcards and memories since the National Trust clearly has no idea what they are throwing away.

I thought the National Trust's main aim was to preserve the heritage, culture and unique historic identity of all the the different places they manage? Surely McConaghy's shop meets all of these & deserves to be preserved.

I am signing this petition as I feel strongly that to close McConaghy's souviener shop would be to lose a piece of history, we are losing too many of our family owned local businesses. I thought this charity was established to protect the places we love?

Shame on N T , greedy money people. Don't care they ruined the Causeway. worked there in tea rooms from a 14 yr old to 18 yr old. Always visit Wee shop when home from Australia . Never stepped foot inside National Trust shop or tea room a complete rip off.

Shame on the National Trust, need for toilet block does not outweigh need for local business to be ousted, smacks of monopolisation of services at this major natural attraction. Find another spot for the loos you big bullies!

A little piece of history which should be permitted to remain insitu. Progress can be good, but not at the cost of livelihoods and loss of everything that has made the causeway. The visitor centre is engulfing the smaller person. Please rein it in a bit.

A block of toilets that could be built elsewhere just isn't a valid enough reason to get rid of this long running family business that also happens to be the only gift shop that can be accessed free of charge at The Giant's Causeway
