Cork County Council elected councillors have voted to re-zone an area in Lower Aghada village from existing green infrastructure zone to industrial zone, following a request by a wealthy private developer. The developer is proposing to construct the world's largest hydrogen electrolysis manufacturing and generation facility in the heart of the village. The site is immediately adjacent and bounding a Special Protection Area for wildlife, tennis club, People's Path amenity walk, main road to/from Whitegate and within the rural residential area. All within the heart of the village.

My kids use that space every day for the tennis club. You cant just pave over everything for some developer.
This is a village not an industrial park. Leave our green space alone.
Are they mad? RIGHT in middle of the village by the path? Disgraceful carry on from the council.
The people of Aghada deserve better than this. Keep the hydrogen plant somewhere else away from houses and the birds.
Total madness. The road is busy enough as it is without massive industrial trucks coming through.

STOP RUINING OUR VILLAGE. We moved here for the peace and the green space not to live next to a massive factory. Shame on the councillors for voting this through.
