Powys County Council has received a letter from Network Rail informing them that they wish to explore the removal of the level crossing in Llandrindod Wells.

The level crossing provides an important link from motorists and pedestrians.

We the undersigned call on Network Rail to rethink the closure of Llandrindod Wells Level Crossing and oppose such proposals most strongly.

Thanks

Cllr Gary Price - Llandrindod Wells North Ward

Walking past the crossing reminds me every day why this town needs it to stay open. Please send this link to a few neighbors so we can hit our target while the council is still paying attention.

Seeing the momentum grow as we approach one hundred signatures keeps me hopeful that we can protect this vital crossing for our community. Please send the link to your neighbors right now because we need to show Network Rail how many of us rely on this path every single day.

i think clossing the crossing would be a huge mistake.there are alot of elderly people on the west side of the crossin that use the crossing shops. and most would find a footbridge difficult and also dangerous it would split the community in half

I use this road to walk to work on near every day, it saves me time to get from home to work. I reply on this road to get to work which is on the other side not far from the line, to have this crossing closed would mean for me to walk an extra 20 minutes which is unnecessary

My fish and chip shop is placed on Waterloo Road, if this crossing was to close my business would be in ruins. All of our customers access the shop from this crossing. It would be a disaster for my business and for the community as a whole.

This important crossing needs to be retained, not least for rapid access for fire tenders and other emergency vehicles to the nearby industrial estate. It is in a built-up area and must be retained if road traffic is to be dispersed away from the town centre to avoid congestion.

I use this road a lot.I need to cross it when I take my children to the school bus stop at Tesco. Closing this road will add on at least 20 minutes to our daily walk it's a lot for little legs every day. A lot of psrents use this road.

This will virtually, and for the most part, physically split the town in two just leaving 'two' points of crossing by vehicle. The railway line, runs through this town that is nearly 2 miles in length!! Ridiculous esp for pedestrians. Think again.
