These level crossing needs to be kept open for access to homes and businesses as well as the public who use it daily to get to their homes.

This level crossing has been used for many years either to go down towards Tesco and other stores as a shortcut but also to access homes in this area. So many people and companies will be affected by its closing as well as pedestrians so it needs to be kept open.

Powys CC and Railtrack have already demolished (rather than repair or re-build) the footbridge which gave legal right of way over train track between Montpelier Park and the Green, thus denying DIRECT access from other side of track to the town's only, ENCLOSED, ATTRACTIVE COMMUNITY GREEN AND ORCHARD where kids and dogs can be allowed to SAFELY play and RUN FREE. They now wish to close the level crossing over SAME RAIL TRACK at the other end of town (greatly inconveniencing the people of Llandrindod and potentially putting small adjacent enterprises out of business) and they propose BUILDING A FOOTBRIDGE THERE. WAS THIS THE PLAN ALL ALONG?? HOW ABOUT DOING THE NECESSARY MAINTENANCE WORK ON THE LEVEL CROSSING AND KEEPING IT OPEN, AND RE-BUILDING THE BRIDGE ONTO THE GREEN WHICH YOU HAVE TAKEN FROM US ALREADY?? AND HOW ABOUT LISTENING TO THE PEOPLE OF LLANDRINDOD FOR A CHANGE AND HOW ABOUT LOOKING AFTER & PAYING ATTENTION TO THE TOWN'S POPULATION AT LEISURE AND ON FOOT WITH THE FACILITIES WE ALREADY HAVE, RATHER THAN WASTING GRANTS ON SILLY UNNECESSARY DEVELOPMENTS DESIGNED TO GIVE ILLUSION OF ATTRACTING BUSINESS AND TOURISM. THE BUSINESS AND THE TOURISM WILL COME IF YOU TAKING CARE OF THE EXISTING BEAUTIES AND FREEDOMS OF THIS PLACE RATHER THAN DESTROY THEM!! J.MARCH

If the crossing is closed it will split the town in half. There are shops close by which will lose a lot of business and I will certainly lose my job. The crossing adds character to the town also.

why on earth would you wish to close another vital crossing point in this poor town. Are you not happy enough that you are trying closing our only high school .P.C.C you should be ashamed of what you are doing to this town .Any idiot can close everything to same money ,but you are supposed to be the People who are highly paid to solve problems .If you are unable to do that then I suggest you are in the wrong job and should admit you are inadequate and move on.

Please leave the crossing alone. So many people use it everyday and would be so inconvenienced should it go.

Closing this crossing would be completely and utterly negative to the local community. Please think again !!

A place for children to cross the railway on their way to school, mainly affecting those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Also an important crossing for local businesses who would probably lose revenue

why hte hell would you close this crossing, it would make no sense, it would shut one half of the town off from the rest, and for those with no transport it would be very impracticable ... silly idea ditch it now

Lots of people use the crossing when walking their children to school as the school is just the other side of it. Seems crazy to take it out and make all the children have to walk further.

The crossing is an important link for motorists, bicycles and pedestrians. Its loss would also increase pressure on the town bridge, creating a likelihood of congestion by the turning beyond.

The road was here before the railway such is its importance and convenience for local and neighboring estates.

The crossing is crucial to both motorists and pedestrians. There have been no collisions or accidents, as the trains cannot proceed until the barriers are down from a stop position. In addition, the local shops would financially suffer, at a time when the large superstores think they can walk over everybody!!
