I believe the people residing at Kully Bay Warrawong have established a small community and support network. Please dont move them on as they are not harming anyone or spoiling anyone's views. Public land should remain for public use.
I know what it feels like being homeless. This isn’t right, they should have every right to stay. No one ever use that car park. Only cops when they setup the RBT. Instead kicking them out. Build them an area they can stay that doesn’t cost as much as it does at a caravan park. Be helpful !!! Not just throw them out.
Not sure why the council cares, the lake path is even falling down in this area so I'm not sure who would even use this carpark. I stay here on occasions and the people living there have been amazing to me, kindest people I've met which gives me a safe place to stay.
The government is weak and this is just depressing for people whom are already struggling. If they want to help these people put in toilets and hot showers and garbage collections and charge a few bucks for services.
Why is NSW Gov spending thousands fixing up a car park that’s not normally used while Homes NSW have boarded up houses in the Warrawong area that they could fix up to allow some of those families forced to live in caravans with no basic amenities.
I’m concerned that politicians, those with houses, are dictating a non equitable and hypocritical rule against the homeless in Australia, making an already difficult situation even worse. If the powers that be don’t want people to stay at Kully Bay then find them a safer alternative

Homelessness is not a crime. I'd rather live in a community that wants to help those affected by homelessness than one with a 'pretty' lake front. Council needs to actively help people, not give them a flyer with overburdened helplines listed on it and a 'move on' order.
