Campus safety officer Josh Garay was recently fired from working at Trinity College. Josh was fired after harmlessly having a Facebook conversation with a member of a fraternity on campus about upcoming theme parties at Trinity. Josh has a young son, and this job was his life. He is a great guy, who worked hard to protect us and work with us to have safe and fun night life at Trinity. If you have been involved, participate, or support in greek life at Trinity College please show your appreciation by signing this petition, and showing that an innocent man should not be fired. This petition is for the school to reinstate him as campus safety officer. Please take a minute of your day to sign this petition and hopefully help a man who has given his life to our school.

I really thought this might just fizzle out but seeing how many of you stepped up is honestly blowing my mind right now. It feels like the administration is actually going to have to pay attention to this (which is insane because it started as just me wanting to help Josh get back on his feet) so let's keep that energy up.

Josh has always been respectful, professional and kind to the greek houses at Trinity. Unlike most campus safety officers he has developed a great relationship students. Trinity cannot continue to take away what is left of this greek system
Josh has always made it clear that he is available to the students. His number one priority is our safety. We respect Josh both as an authority figure, and a guide to make the right decision. His amazing ability to be both professional and approachable for advice should be praised, rather than condemned.
Firing a man of Josh's character on the basis of rumors is ludicrous. The student body has nothing but great things to say about such a hard-working, dedicated and professional individual.
Firing Josh serves as a horrendous affront to kind, transparent, and hardworking Americans. This appalling decision to remove a great man from the Trinity College community functions to make our campus less safe and therefore our college experience less enjoyable. Near-sightedness is not a becoming trait for college administrations; this needs to be reversed immediately.
An officer who knew how to develop rapport with students. He is able to handle unruly partygoers well and work with hosts to keep everyone safe, while simultaneously executing school policy.
Josh has been nothing but helpful and professional in my experience with him. He is one of the only members of Campus Safety who students feel comfortable having an honest dialogue with
absolutely outrageous that he got fired

Campus safety officers need to know what's going on on campus if they want to be at all effective; he should't be fired for engaging in conversation with students. Campus safety officers shouldn't be fired at all unless it's something egregious; constantly replacing the people in charge of keeping us safe is no way to create a community
