Campus safety officers need to know what's going on on campus if they want to be at all effective; he should't be fired for engaging in conversation with students. Campus safety officers shouldn't be fired at all unless it's something egregious; constantly replacing the people in charge of keeping us safe is no way to create a community

This is is outrageous. This campus is unsafe, yet trinity hires campus safety officers who care primarily of themselves. This man was the best officer I knew, because he always put the students in front of himself, and was one of 2 campus safety officers who ACTUALLY loved his job for the cause. It bewilders me how arrogant this school administration can be with decisions like this, but sadly, it doesn't surprise me anymore when this school hires the wrong people and fires the right people. He was not only an officer, he was the only one to make friends with every student he knew. You didn't fire an officer, you fired my friend, who I know always has my back. Stop making decisions that will ruin the reputation of this school and rehire this man who sincerely cared about this job more than the entire staff combined. This is absurd and arrogant. He was, and still is, loved by all members (especially students) of Trinity college. It is instances like this that makes me realize every day that I don't have any motivation to donate to this school after I graduate, even though I would be happy to. Probably won't send my child here either knowing the staff makes such poor decisions as shown here. Immaturity at its finest. When you do decide to hire him again, make sure to give him a sincere apology. He deserves it.
