I would hate to see Hawk Elementary demolished. It holds many memories for the black community and especially those who attended school there. I think it should be made a historical building in memory of being an all black school. A historic landmark.

If alumni can get together for a reunion for Jackson High their should be a way to come together to raise funds to preserve our history in our community. Let's start making pledges to reach the amount they're asking.

This school can be used for the students at cc lewis as well as union bee this a landmark please put it to good use don't tear it down I think it's very selfish to demolish this building instead of giving it to these babies for education i got my education there along with a lot of others

Hawk Elementary school, is a black historical school and should not be closed under any circumstance. This school has so much African American History, tied to Jonesboro Community!!! PLEASE DO NOT DELETE OUR AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY FROM THE FABRIC OF JONESBORO!!!

I attended Hawk. I also remember how during the summer it was were I could get a hot meal for free! Please save Hawk! Use it to help the youth & seniors in the community! #HawkStrong

This building can be use for many things such as tutoring kids, computer classes, things like that, and the gym could be used for the elderly such as exercising, aerobics, etc, this building is a part of history in Jackson Parish.

So memorable, a school before integration that was a pillar to achievement in the Jonesboro La. community
