Our petition is to Save Hannibal's Marina. We are known as America's River town and our City has voted to do away with our Marina via a 4-2 vote on July 5th, 2016.
Our ordinance will REQUIRE Hannibal to provide our town with a downtown marina with accommodations including gas and security.
We do have a petition running around the town for Hannibal registered voters. If you have signed that one, you can still sign this one. IF you are out of town or a non-voter, please sign this!

I have submitted a formal request for a meeting with the city council members who voted against the marina ordinance. My focus is currently on drafting a legal memorandum that outlines the specific requirements for downtown boat accommodations and security infrastructure.

The growth of this petition has reached a level that commands attention from the city council. Our legal team is currently reviewing the ordinance language to ensure our formal request for a downtown marina is watertight before we submit it to the municipal offices.

I was born and raised in Hannibal... Lived there until I was 42 years and that marina was a part of my life!!! Save the marina!!! For the loyal citizens!!!! Take care of the locals!!!!
I am in Hannibal a minimum of 2 weekends a month and use the marina regularly. . I lived in Hannibal for 10 years and the town would not be the same without the marina.
Hannibal is one of the best recognized river towns in the world. What is a river town with no access to the river? It's a sad, cruel joke. Rather than removing the marina, I feel it should be upgraded and maintained.
Not only keep it but expand it. They need more boat parking and gas. It would make it more easier to visit the downtown business.
We've always enjoyed making trips to Hannibal with our boat. It's a short walk to town to have lunch or dinner and then walking around the riverfront area. No Marina makes that impossible.

We would like to boat to Hannibal on a fairly regular basis and visit for the day, stay overnight if the marina supported that. No marina, no visit, no money spent at local business'.
