I am unaware of the politics of the situation but am fully aware of what counts and that is what I am going to base the following on. As a parent I pray every day that my daughter sits in classrooms with teachers who really care. Teachers who take it upon themselves to make sure their students perform to the best of their ability. Teachers who take it to heart when students don’t meet their expectations and also celebrate when they overcome even the smallest obstacle. This in short sums up Emily Wilson. Over the last few years she has impressed my wife (who has no idea I am doing this) to the point where she comes home and praises Emily for her ability to connect with each and every one of her students and engage them in her lessons. We as taxpayers of a small school district can’t afford to lose teachers like this, and I can’t allow myself to stand by and not do anything.
