We the undersigned object to the following development within the Douglas Promenade Conservation Area affecting the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway:

1. The latest (DECEMBER 16) proposals to truncate the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway ripping up the tracks from the Sea Terminal to a position just South of the Broadway.

2. The proposal change use of the stables sell them off.

3. The proposal to carry out works at the Strathallan Car shed to install new stables.

My family and I are annual visitors to the Island. Its unique transport heritage is one of the big attractions for us and the downgrading of the Horse Tramway from a real form of transport to a theme park ride would greatly detract from this.

This unique attraction deserves better. Or does the IOM no longer wish to encourage tourism?

There has to be a better way, what next are they going to build a car park on Douglas head for the bankers, please think again, for 60 years on and off I have been to your beautiful island, and the first thing that greets you is the trams, good luck to all the Manx people.

Why does Manx Govt seem to care so little for its priceless transport Heritage?
