The local authority confirmed today that the Crimond and Kellands dyslexic units will remain open. We have secured a formal commitment to maintain these services and I will continue to monitor their operational status throughout the coming academic year.

Please help stop the closure of crimond and kellands dyslexic units. We have until the 28th May to let those involved in the decision making process know that this will be a huge mistake that will be detrimental to the education of many children.

The administration can no longer ignore the scale of this opposition. My team is currently finalizing a formal briefing document to present directly to the council members who hold the deciding votes.

Class teachers and support staff will always try their best for each child in the class. However where will a child requiring individual programmes, observation and engagement get the most attention - in a class of four or a class of thirty?
Hello I'm Aaron and I was one of the pupils who when to the dyslexic units. I went to the dylexic unit in Crimond and I might not be that perfect but it help a lot when I was there. So please keep the units up and running because if it helped me it will help others aswell.
Dyslexia is a condition that cannot be ignored. I was diagnosed when I was 8 years old and without support i would have never finished school with 6 higher and advanced highers and got into one of the uk's top universities.
This is a vital resource for children with dyslexia. Schools don't have the resources to help them as much as these centres can and with the shortage of teachers support teachers are being used to fill the gap. These centres should be being enhanced not cut!!
The impact these units have greatly improve the confidence and lives of the children it helps. The proposals to deliver support within each school will not provide the same standard or quality. Children with dyslexia will not have their full needs met!
Invaluable service that mainstream schools just can't offer to the kids involved. Closure would be unfair to them, and whatever happened to all children have a right to a fair education?

My cousin goes to one of the units and it has really helped him. Our school doesnt have all the teachers we need so if my cousin had to come to our school I dont think he would get help or maybe he would and I wouldnt.
