We the undersigned are objecting to the proposed development of the open space of Baltray Park as part of the planning application for the Techrete site. We object to the transfer of Baltray Park or the issuance of a licence for the use of Baltray Park to the Developer. Baltray Park has been in use over generations and is an important facility in the community.

The growth in support signals that our position on the Baltray Park development is gaining necessary public traction. I am currently coordinating with legal counsel to formalize our objections into a submission for the upcoming planning committee meeting.

We have reached one hundred signatures which provides enough leverage to formally request a meeting with the local council planning office. I am drafting a letter now to present this total as evidence of community opposition to the proposed development.

As a local resident, I am dismayed at how much housing has recently been added to the peninsula - we don't have the infrastructure to facilitate this. But to take away green space to do it is worse still. We have very few community services and amenities left in Howth.
It is essential that the park stay exactly as it is. Beware of slick schemes which, in fact, will result in the park being swallowed up as the open space requirement of any residential scheme (which won't benefit the community either).
I strongly object to the handing over of this very special public amenity to private developers. Baltray park has a very special place in our lives, it is where our four children learnt to ride their bikes and where I go to play tennis with my kids on the only PUBLIC tennis courts for miles around.
We spent all our childhood going to this park or as my kids now call it,Granny's park!!! Now my Mum spends the summers here with her grandkids, would be such a shame for it to go!!!
Grew up across the road from the park. Spent hours weekly playing in the park & every summer had tennis lessons. There's limited play & recreational park areas in Howth. This should not be targeted as a developed site for profit at the locals loss
I entirely support this petition. The current infrastructure simply does not support the proposed development. Traffic, on weekends particularly, can regularly be backed up as far back as the Blackbanks in Raheny.
I am in support of maintaining some public facilities for the residents of Howth. We need more not less shared recreational space preserved.

Hands off. This is a much used local amenity for the young and old - locals and visitors. Why eliminate such a positive and long established facility. It's been there for nearly 50 years! No discussion with locals took place and we understood that Fingall CC are the guardians of special amenity area!
