As you are aware parents have recently been communicated that Annabels Montessori in Lemsford Village Hall, will be closing as of Tuesday 3rd January. Hatfield Town Council have asked Annabels to vacate the premises after 23 years.

It is such a shame that after so many years this reputable school is being asked to relocate. This puts parents under real pressure to move their child to another school or have to travel further to the new location. Most importantly this disrupts our children, having to make new friend, get used to new surroundings and new teachers, should they have to move to another school.

Please sign this petition if you want our school to remain at Lemsford Village Hall, which has been our home for 23 years.

I went to this Montessori and to me it was the perfect place to go to everyday. I never really liked having to leave my mum but the teachers were really kind and made school fun. Please dont close this great school.

Annabels benefits from being close to Lemsford school and caters for a population which is disparate from the rest of Welwyn garden city. It would be a disservice to move it for the school and the families involved.

Only a half terms notice of closing mid school year? Those kids will have very little chance of finding a space elsewhere. At the very least they should allow them to finish the school year so there is more time to relocate the school as a whole, or for parents to find a school with space.

I cannot see why the school should move, it has been there for 23 years and my own children were there many years ago. I have recommended this school to many young parents who have all been pleased with the quality of care that they receive. It is a landmark and should remain.

Put a stop to this silly decision. No care from the council about these little children. It's hard for adults to make new friends, get used to new surroundings and even new teachers...let alone 2-5 year olds.

It's disgraceful that the council have not considered the impact this closure and it's disruption will have on the children. It is also very sad to see that lemsford will lose such a valuable community resource.
