St. Anne's Playgroup has now been operating at St. Anne's Church for over 5 years, providing excellent childcare and job opportunities to the community. In past weeks, the parish of the church have made the decision to terminate the contract between the two parties with effect from December this year, leaving many without jobs or childcare. Please sign the petition to show your support in allowing St. Anne's Playgroup to continue operating from their current childcare setting in the church hall.

The stories shared by parents in the comments highlight exactly what is at risk here. I am drafting a formal letter to the parish council based on your feedback.

The momentum is incredible. This shows exactly how much this playgroup means to our neighborhood.

As I don't drive and have a very young baby as well as my toddler, finding such a good playschool close to my house with amazing staff was a real answer to prayer and I don't know what I will do if it closes.

My two boys both attended St Anne's playgroup and loved it! The flexibility of Louise and her staff was / is amazing! I could not have delivered work to my clients at times without their help, often at the last minute.

It seems very short sighted to close the nursery which is such a strong community asset, helping children mix with others who will be their lifelong friends at Primary School and forging sense of belonging to the local group.

This is a real blow! My granddaughter loves coming and the people who run it are so supportive. My grandson also loves coming to the before and after school provision. Their parents can go to work knowing their children are happy. Apart from that, we are talking about the loss of jobs!

My twins attended this playgroup and it is a fantastic way of meeting families and other children in the Western Park community, as well as a brilliant childcare facility. I also think the church should consider this a great way of introducing people in the locality to the church.

All 6 of my grandchildren when there and they loved it, they got my 2 autistic grandson started on mainstream education. This playgroup is excellent and should be allowed to stay open.

The local community needs variety of pre-school/early years provision. Choice for many will be reduced if this playgroup closes.

Our Daughter Jennifer went here and we had plans to bring her brother too when he becomes old enough. I hope this contract can be extended.
