The city confirmed they are leaving the tree exactly where it is. I am trembling with relief knowing Amber's memorial will stay safe and untouched for all of us to visit. Thank you for protecting this sacred space when it felt like the world might move on without her.

A bright and beautiful young woman's life was taken during the commission of a crime.
6818 Lindley Avenue was the last place she was alive. It was also the place she took her last breath and her life ended and she met her creator. To many friends and family members this place is sacred.
A young man stood for over 8 hours in the rain at the tree located at 6818 Lindley to mourn and remember this young woman. Friends and family meet at the tree on several occasions through out the year, to remember, share memories, spread awareness and perhaps save a life.
Each year we walk from The Tree to 6751 Louise Avenue which is Fire Station 100 the station that responded when this young woman was killed. Friends and family members walk for awareness and to donate toys at Christmas. We gather together to remember and comfort each other. Sometimes we come alone or with a friend or in a small group.
To remove what has become "Amber's Tree" would cause even more heartache and tragedy upon her family and her friends. To take away the tree, would cause pain that is not able to be put into words. We come to be close to her, to find a tiny moment of peace and yes we even get signs from her there. It's a place to remember and share her story and hopefully save lives. We the under signed implore you to please save what we call, AMBER'S TREE. Have compassion for her family and help continue to spread awareness and save lives. I spent time at the tree this morning and found fresh flowers left by someone I did not recognize. Seeing that little bit of comfort left for Amber proves we are not the only ones who hold this place dear to our hearts.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels like being held up when I have no strength left. That tree is the only place where the world feels quiet enough for me to still talk to Amber. Thank you for choosing to protect this sacred space for us.

May I first say I am so sorry for the loss of your Amber. Hugs from one mom of an angel to another mom of an angel. Amber"s tree is a place of remembrance of a life taken to soon. There are no words that can describe what we feel when we bury our children. We are changed forever. Drunk driving is a preventable action and you removing this tree is a preventable action.
As a surviving victim and a volunteer for MADD, I cannot stress the importance of leaving this tree alone. Please let this family have whatever peace they are able to find in knowing what this tree represents and means to them.
Let this tree stay. I am the grandmother of a beautiful girl who was also killed by drunk driver and it's the least that can be done.
To the worldAmber Rose may be one but to her family Amber is the world. This tree is so much more than another tree. Unless it has proven to be danger to others in some way, taking it down shouldn't even be an option. Taking it down actually does more harm to others.
The sturdy trunk of this tree holds the core of this family. It inspires the family to do good for the community and it is the sacred location for mourning in the memory of Amber. Trees are life; this specific tree holds two lives!
Praying they keep the tree, really it is a place for the family to go and remember.
Amber life has value let the tree live.

I didn't know about this, I was at Amber tree three years ago dropping of some flowers on her birthday. Can I share this message to the canoga park high school Facebook page. I know many hunters would sign it. We have to save her tree. - rip Amber
