The school board confirmed today that the compulsory sandal policy is officially rescinded. We will keep monitoring the upcoming uniform handbook to ensure the change is accurately reflected for all students.
This petition aims to show the collective opinion of the MAGS Student body on the issue of compulsory sandals in terms one and four. Sandals are highly inappropriate for many environments at MAGS, and for the unpredictable weather in Auckland, and so students should be allowed to choose their own footwear from various acceptable school footwear options, as they have been able to in the past. By signing this petition you are showing the school that the students do not agree with this rule, thereby asking the school to make an alteration to the rule and return to the former rule.
The petition reached the threshold necessary to request a formal meeting with the school administration. I am currently drafting a letter to the principal to outline our specific concerns regarding current footwear requirements.

So, is it actually compulsory at the school for all students to wear sandals? There isn't a shoes and socks option?
