As most of you know the opportunity for mufti to be worn at school for Year 13's has been taken away. This has disappointed a lot of future year 13 students. Mufti offers a lot of good things for year 13 students. It can help a student be a lot more comfortable on cold days and hot days. It also forms a clear difference between the year 13's and the younger students.
Mufti for Year 13s helps generate a good distinctive difference between them and younger students. It helps generate the image of the year 13's being leaders, and having a sense of maturity. Having the difference between these school leaders and the younger students helps give the students an idea of who to look up to.
By signing this petition it will help raise awareness of the amount of students who want mufti to be an option in the future. After enough votes has been put in the petition will be put forward to Orewa College Senior Management along with a letter explaining the advantages of mufti for year 13s. The more votes the better and if we get a lot of votes we will have protection in numbers. If we raise this problem and take it to Senior Management they will be able to be aware of the amount of students that would prefer mufti and also the main big reasons as to why.

Two hundred and fifty people have signed this now which is actually kind of wild to think about when I started this just wanting to see if anyone else felt the same way as me about the dress code. It really makes me think the senior management team might actually have to listen to us once we print this all out and hand it over because my printer is definitely going to overheat with this many names attached.

One hundred signatures is actually wild like I honestly thought maybe ten people would care but here we are. It is honestly kind of surreal seeing all these names pile up because it just proves that everyone else is feeling the same way about the uniform thing and it makes the whole school corridor vibe feel a bit different now that I know you guys get it.

I checked the count just now and we are hovering right near that hundred mark which feels like a solid place to be before I actually print this all out and march it into the office. If we could just get a few more people to hit the link today then the administration will have a much harder time looking away from what we are trying to achieve.

This is a great year for the kids as the transistion from child hood to adulthood, from a student teacher relationship to more of a mentoring friendship ex teacher role. I think the mufti helps the kids transition into the real world. It also gives the junior students something to aspire to .
Wearing Mufti is a way for us to express ourselves and to show maturity. It is also a way for us to keep warm during the winter as jeans are much warmer than the school skirts.
I think this is a really good idea. Mufti in year 13 has been a privelage that all students at Orewa College spend years looking forward to, and simply having that ripped away for a reason that hasn't properly been explained to any of us is completely unfair.
To be very honest i would like it if year 13s wearing mufti could stay as part of our protocol as I'm only year 10 and would like to experience it and I can fairly say that years younger and maybe 2 years older would say the exact same
Being able to wear mufti made my final and most important year at Orewa college more comfortable, and therefore I have concentrated better in class and have obtained the best grades than I have in previous years. Getting rid of mufti would be a major mistake.
All year 13 should be able to wear mafti
Mufti in your last year of school has been around for years , it is their right as last year students to become independent from school rules & get them prepared for work life . Come on OC dont be so stupid

I need motivation as it is to stay for year 13. Year 13 is supposed to be the highlight of any students high school years, yet they expect us to buy a new uniform for $200 or so? What a joke.
