I am a native of SM. I remember this home and the well known family that owned STATS and Broadway Florist. This is one of the Grande Dame homes in SM, please, please don't let this happen. These homes are who we were and are as a community; these homes are in fact our legacy.
Please don't allow this home to be torn down and replaced by yet another new Spanish house that could never replace a home with the quality and character of a home like this. I do not understand how our city has let this happen time and time again. We need to preserve the character and beauty of this city.
This is a gorgeous home with great bones and should not be torn down for a new McMansion. City of San Marino please save our cultural resources and prevent the needless destruction of our architectural treasures. We don't want San Marino to look like Arcadia!
The warmth and charm of San Marino's neighborhoods owe a lot to the architectural diversity of its homes, its wide streets and many trees and shrubs. Our historical homes contribute to our city's heritage and should be preserved as much as possible for present and future San Marino generations.
Preservation and identification of such homes / buildings / properties for the historical relevance and of our unique Southern California culture is of utmost importance. These properties may be bought and sold - from one caregiver to the next - not to developers that have zero interest in history.
I am all in favor of keeping the tradition of San Marino and not to follow the advice or suggestions of developers
Please stop this demolition. This structure needs to be preserved.

As one of the first Theodore Pletsch's properties in San Marino this home should be retained as part of the City of San Marino's Heritage to treasure for future generations.
