I am a native of SM. I remember this home and the well known family that owned STATS and Broadway Florist. This is one of the Grande Dame homes in SM, please, please don't let this happen. These homes are who we were and are as a community; these homes are in fact our legacy.

Please don't allow this home to be torn down and replaced by yet another new Spanish house that could never replace a home with the quality and character of a home like this. I do not understand how our city has let this happen time and time again. We need to preserve the character and beauty of this city.

I join in with everyone in expressing my support for preserving our amazing architectural heritage. This is what distinguishes our community from other communities in southern California. All of our historic homes should be cherished!

The city council would have to be brain-dead to let this home be demolished. Thank heavens we have elections coming up -- let's get some city council candidates who value this community, not just ca$h for developers who can't even build homes with level floors and who put in cheap Podocarpus Macrophyllus as hedges. It's nauseating.
