Delay the OPHS solar panel project until after the dismissal of the 2016-2017 school year. This project puts saving interests over students safety. It will disrupt 2 months of the remaining school year and parking will be replaced on Kanan Rd, a very busy street with intense traffic conditions. Students will be required to parallel park in these conditions which puts their safety at a higher risk.

We are approaching 500 signatures and need to hit this milestone before the school board meeting on Monday. Reaching this total ensures our request for a formal project delay remains a priority item on their agenda.

We all want and support progress but not the expense of our kids. The timing is wrong and this project at this time creates unsafe conditions, chaos, confusion and sends the wrong message to our school and this year's graduating class. Our kids, our families and our school deserve better.

Drop off and Pick up is already difficult. Can only imagine the chaos that displacing 200 parking spaces and forcing kids to parallel park on Kanan will create. Safety should be our first concern!

Oak Park High School collected Money from every child who elected to park on campus. The school is breaking their contract with every person who paid to park on campus and now forcing them to park on the street.

I don't go to OPHS, but I drive past OPHS every day to go to school. The congestion on Kanan is bad enough. Why make it worse? And ruin the seniors' off campus privilege? This can be halted until summer, when there are much less kids at OPHS for summer school.

I think if ur gets done it should. E over the summer. It's a traffic and safety hazard. I'm not okay with it. If it goes through- you should refund the two months of parking these kids paid for as well. I'm more concerned about safety than the funds, but it's not okay.

Construction on school sites should be done when students are out of school for the summer break (summer school is less populated) and not when it can have a negative influence on the safety of our full student population.

It's simple supply and demand. As you take away the parking spaces the demand goes up.

Will someone step up to fight this or will we allow the district to disregard students and parents as usual?
