The intersection at NW Bridge St. and 3rd St. appears to be one of the most dangerous intersections in John Day, OR. There have been several accidents and near misses at this intersection. During events at the fairgrounds the risk becomes even higher. We would like to see a four way stop placed at the intersection, or another plan made for safety.
I have been collecting personal accounts of near misses at the intersection to present to the city council. Send me a direct message with your own experience if you have seen an accident at Bridge and 3rd. Post this link on your Facebook page to make sure local neighbors see the danger.

We hit a major milestone that proves the city cannot ignore this safety hazard anymore. Post this link to your Facebook feed and text three neighbors to keep the momentum going.

This is a horrible 4 way. Needs either all stop signs or a light or something. Possibly a big speed bump! Someone is going to die from that road one day.

Very needed 4 way stop! Between the activity at the 7th street complex and the activity at the fairgrounds, not to mention just the every day traffic of people skipping town by turning at Schwabs. This is a busy dangerous intersection and people drive way too fast on Bridge!

It was very dangerous when someone had their van parked in front of their house on the corner of Bridge St and NW 3rd Ave. You could not see cars coming coming south, when stopped on NW 3rd and Bridge St.

Highly dangerous intersection, especially when there are events at the fairgrounds. A four-way stop is essential.

Time to make this a four way Stop especially since there are vehicles parked on the road making it difficult to see oncoming Traffic.
